Handover Night. 30th June, 2010

This year the club decided to hold Handover Night at the incoming Presidents home at Matfen. Experience has taught us that a meal at Maureens is an evening to revere. In the past we have been served with a seven course meal, and when you see the first course of 22 Souffles having been served without one of them collapsing, you have to realise you're in the right place, with the right company, and certainly the right Hostess.
The evening began by Ken Crass booking a mini bus to transport us all to Matfen, booked for an eleven thirty return as Thursday was after all, another working day.
On this occasion it was such a lovely evening we sat at tables on the patio and went through various courses of a running buffet, the tables inside the house were fully loaded with so much irresistable food the ensemble were kept busy for the entire evening. The fact that we spent the evening demolishing the drinks cupboard free of charge was too much for one enterprising member, who suggested we should raffle off a bottle of something, obviously it was opened immediately and followed its predecessors. Fortunately this made an excellent start to Maureens year with the raffle raising the sum of two hundred and fifty nine pounds which will go to a charity of the Presidents choice.
More pictures of the event will be added as they arrive.
Don't ask about the picture of the hens.

The first few pictures are of the incoming President Maureen being given her Badge of Office by last years President Harry

The rest of the pictures are members and partners whose names will come into vision if you hold your curser over the picture of your choice
